"As someone who has seen literally thousands of acts in my capacity as reviewer and promoter, I can honestly say South Wind is one of the most exciting and unique. The jangling banjo and motherlode of truly American music is fascinating to hear, and this duo connects with the audience like very few musicians are capable of."

.

Based in Richmond, Virginia, South Wind specializes in traditional derivative folk music, first brought to widespread popularity by groups like The Kingston Trio in the late 50's and early 60's.

South Wind's material has origins ranging from sea chanteys and Irish drinking songs to early American folk and blues, and incorporates styles ranging from romantic ballads to bluegrass.

Their harmonic vocal arrangements are supported by Don's strong rhythm guitar style and Ed's folk/bluegrass banjo work.

"… a genuine respite can be found by soaking in the harmony, peace, and good vibes from this almost-forgotten style of music."
